In the beginning were the words...

Welcome, welcome to my blog!

It’s always hard to know what to say but as you’re here I’m guessing you’re a bit like me – busy, but keen to find new and stylish things for your home which are well-made and a little bit different.

Perhaps, however, it’s also because you’re curious about the inspiration or story behind what you choose to bring into your home, too?

I started my company, Leonora Hammond, because I wanted some typographical art for my house and just couldn’t find anything that was right. So I designed it myself and everything just grew organically from there.

Although I’ve moved into product design – I’m especially proud of my make-up bags (which you can check out here) and I’ll soon be launching some amazing loungewear – words will always remain one of my real passions.

Ever since I was a child I’ve collected and curated little proverbs and quotes from Shakespeare – my children will tell you I still recite them. When I was younger I used to write a lot of poems; playing with words, gentle rhymes, exploring the ideas that emerged.

I studied English Literature and developed a real love of art from my father, who was a Professor in this subject and studied in Florence. So although I was surprised to find myself running a company like mine, perhaps I shouldn’t have been.

As it is, I am really looking forward to sharing our news, thoughts, tips and the inside story of what’s happening at Leonora Hammond over the coming months.
